Cebi Group Celebrates 20 Years of Success in China
This milestone was commemorated in Jiaxing in the esteemed presence of Luxembourg dignitaries, including Deputy Prime Minister Xavier Bettel, Minister of the Economy Lex Delles, and officials from the Chinese government, reflecting the strong ties between Luxembourg and China.
Reflecting on this journey, Mr. René Elvinger, Chairman of Cebi Group, shared:
“China became part of our vision in the early 2000s, as we decided to respond to a growing demand from our customers. There was a clear request to produce our high-quality products locally.”
A Journey of Growth and Innovation
Cebi established its first manufacturing plant in the Jiading District of Shanghai in 2004 to meet local demand. As the business grew, a new facility was built in Jiaxing, and the transfer of production was completed in 2021.Cebi China has since then become an R&D Competence Center for spindle drive products, in addition to its manufacturing capabilities of diverse product families.
Today, Cebi China is a key pillar of the Group's global operations, with:
- 270 employees
- 11 advanced production lines (with 2 more planned for 2025)
- A yearly turnover of €40 million
- Trusted by 90% of OEMs in China
These achievements are a testament to Cebi’s commitment to excellence, innovation, and strong local partnerships.
A Strong Collaboration Between Luxembourg and China
The celebration highlighted the enduring partnership between Luxembourg and China. Deputy Prime Minister Bettel highlighted the strong involvement of Cebi in the Chinese market, emphasizing a focus on green development and innovation, marking a significant milestone that reflects both past achievements and a promising future.
Chinese officials, including Deputy Mayor Dai Feng and Deputy Secretary Shuai Xielang, praised Cebi’s contributions to Jiaxing’s development and reiterated their commitment to supporting foreign enterprises. They highlighted Jiaxing’s strategic location, robust industrial infrastructure, and business-friendly environment, promising high-quality services for future growth.
