Cebi celebrates the opening of its new laboratory in Luxembourg (Steinsel)
After more than two years of planning and work, Cebi Luxembourg S.A. is proud to open its testing services in the presence of H.R.H. the Hereditary Grand Duke of Luxembourg and the Minister of the Economy, Franz Fayot.
The new facility significantly increases the capability and capacity of Cebi's laboratory to meet future needs of the Group and to serve a large range of external companies. Over 1000 square meters of laboratory floorspace are now well-equipped with around 50 machines for state-of-the-art testing and qualification under severe conditions. The laboratory is divided into 7 applications areas going from 3D printing, climatic, environmental and thermal shock testing, material analysis, all the way to Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) testing. With the financial support provided by the Luxembourgish government, Cebi Luxembourg S.A. was able to acquire specific machines that are scarce in the Greater Region, such as large vibration benches, thermal and climatic chambers with temperatures ranging from -70°C to +300°C, corrosion benches and enclosures for dust or water spray exposure, as well as state-of-the-art EMC chamber meeting automotive and even aerospace standards.
Innovation and technology have always been core elements of Cebi Group's business strategy. With these new investments, Cebi Luxembourg S.A. will speed up the development and innovation of its products. "The purpose, explains René Elvinger, CEO of the Cebi Group, was to co-locate the R&D department across competencies to facilitate collaboration between product and process owners and to acquire new equipment to meet and even exceed our customers' standards."
Cebi Luxembourg S.A. is furthermore working on testing projects with several companies from the Greater Region. "Collaborating with external companies from the automotive or even other sectors enables us to increase our expertise and to optimize the utilization of the specific testing equipment", explains Paul Elvinger, member of the Executive Board of Cebi Group. "Transforming the current laboratory into a new testing facility providing services to external companies encouraged us to target the highest industry standards and to acquire the relevant certifications, thus offering dedicated and professional testing to our customers."
